But then, you suddenly become aware that it's not really funny. It's just plain horrifyingly awful. And the laughter you felt morphs into a groan.
After all is said and done, you are left with a sense of confusion. You question about the purpose of it all. Was this a joke?
Or were we just living in a simulation gone wrong?

Worst Day Ever

A series/chain/cascade of unfortunate/awful/disastrous events unfolded/occurred/piled on top each other, leaving me feeling like I was in a nightmare/horror movie/comedy of errors. It's the kind of situation where you just want to scream into a pillow.
